Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
