English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The show will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
